We are looking for a Packaging Sustainability Manager to join our Clothing & Home Team. You will be responsible for across Clothing & Home Packaging and will provide technical support to focus on Packaging Sustainability, compliance, innovation that differentiate M&S from the High Street

What youll do
Your key accountabilities will include
- Protect all packaging components across Clothing and Home from product safety, compliance and sustainability and ethical issues in line with legislation and policy
- Ensure deployment of environmental sustainability data management tools, with the M&S Supply Chain including HIGG and ZDHC tools
- Develop and maintain documentation that supports PLAN A reporting for internal and external purposed in line with key C&H Plan A measurements and targets, including Packaging Sustainability targets and conversion to preferred raw materials
- Set and maintain technical standards across the packaging for all Clothing and home business area putting customer requirements at the centre of policy, and ensuring that these standards are frequently and clearly communicated to all stakeholders involved in the packaging design, product development and production processes (Buying Departments, packaging Suppliers, Sourcing Offices
- Act as a business ambassador protecting all Packaging Plan A, safety, ethical and environmental requirements
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include
- Excellent project management skills delivering to critical path time scales and legislative agendas e.g.: packaging reductions
- Degree in Chemistry, Textile, Packaging, Sustainability and Environmental Science or related disciplines
- Highly analytical, able to interpret data (Higg Index, LCA, CIU, Bizarre Voice, QPIs, PLM) and drive insights and present results to support strategic thinking.
- Experience and knowledge of packaging creation, print, woven and constructional manufacturing
- Proven track record to drive and deliver sustainability, innovation, and newness in aligned and joined up approach with Colleagues and suppliers.
