This exciting opportunity is designed for doctors to develop experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) whilst pursuing a funded Post-graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound at the University of Teesside. You will spend 80% of your time working in the Paediatric Emergency Department at Sunderland Royal Hospital and 20% completing the Post-graduate Certificate which provides ultrasound skills in core and PEM ultrasound. This Course is the only one of its kind in the United Kingdom and is tailor-made to those who are hoping to pursue a career in PEM. Clinical modules include: lung ultrasound, shock and echo, eFAST as well musculoskeletal ultrasound. Procedural skills such as POCUS guided IV access, foreign body identification and retrieval and femoral nerve blocks will also form part of the curriculum.
