The Teichmann Research Group is currently recruiting a PA to support all aspects of Professor Sarah Teichmann's office. Professor Teichmann leads a group of highly motivated Researchers who strive to deliver on their research goals. The role holder has a crucial function in the effective and efficient administration of the lab, providing complex PA services to Professor Teichmann and general administrative support to the Senior Project Manager. About us The Teichmann lab strives to understand how humans are built from our most basic building blocks: our cells. We study how cells are different based on the genes they switch on, their physical location within our organs, how they communicate and how these things influence what they do. Understanding our cells not only allows us to understand how we 'work', but how things go wrong in disease and may provide new leads to improve human health. We have a particular interest in the immune system in health and disease. Many of our group are experts in data analysis, building new computational tools to drive our research, and that of the community, forwards. We are a key member of the Human Cell Atlas (HCA) project, of which Sarah Teichmann is co-chair. Key responsibilities Provide a general secretarial service. Diary management, arrange meetings, seminars, take notes/ minutes, organise travel and expense claims, type standard letters and other correspondence, manage emails. Provide administrative support, maintain and update documents, assist in raising purchase orders, monitor and maintain stationery stocks and consumables. Welcome visitors, respond to straightforward enquiries either by phone or email, receive and distribute post and deliveries as required. Provide administration support for small scale events/ meetings. Book rooms, order refreshments, send out invites and set up equipment if required, assist with the production and preparation of publicity materials such as brochures and schedules. Support the Senior Project Manager, with HR administration. Record sickness, absence and holiday leave in accordance with University policies and procedures. Assist the recruitment process for staff and invite applicants for interview, create interview schedule and circulate to interview panels. Assist the Senior Project Manager with the administration of PhD examinations, grants etc. including, data entry, word process and collate grant proposals, photocopy and type documents as required. Assist with data entry including, check data for accuracy and update as necessary or refer where appropriate. Any other administrative duties which are deemed appropriate for this role /position to support Professor Teichmann and the Senior Project Manager.
