Are you an experienced Paraplanner with experience of leading, motivating and supporting a team, working in the financial advice industry? If so, this role will be of interest to you!

Our client, a multi-award winning firm of financial advisers who is owned by one of the top 10 largest insurance companies in the world, are looking for a talented Paraplanner Team Leader to join their successful team who takes pride in delivering a "best in class" service.

The suitable Paraplanner Team Leader will be a knowledgeable individual who is able to manage time effectively, make confident decisions and prioritise. A good team player who will look to mentor others in their specialised areas and learn from others in their development areas.

Responsibilities:

A majority of your time (60% of time) will be spent doing the following:

• Managing the Paraplanners on a day to day basis, ensuring pipeline management and case distribution.
• Ensure cases are progressing in a timely manner, highlighting potential concerns to the Paraplanner Manager.
• Taking accountability for team performance, supporting the Paraplanner to achieve individual set targets, providing regular updates to the Paraplanner Manager.
• Supporting the Paraplanner Manager in attending and completing individual 1 to 1’s.
• Mentoring and developing trainees and new starters to competent status within agreed timescales.
• Providing technical support to the Paraplanners, deliver training sessions to upskill and maintain competent knowledge levels.
• Assisting in the development, design and implementation of processes and procedures to meet the needs of the team.
• Ensuring the Paraplanners act as an effective first line defence, ensuring compliance with FCA requirements and suitability of advice.

Secondary requirements (40% of time) will be:

• Reviewing fact finds to ensure all aspects of the client financial needs are clearly documented, challenging the advisers where appropriate to enable them to research suitable solutions based on the information provided.
• Using research tools to complete analysis, comparing the options, assessing TVAS outcomes and annuity crossover/breakeven analysis as required.
• Preparing draft suitability reports within an agreed timescale, for final approval by the adviser, using technical knowledge and experience plus compliance approved templates and soft facts including justification for advice.
• Liaising with the Business Quality Unit (BQU) to ensure that the file quality is within required standards.
• Ensure individual and team targets are set and achieved, providing regular updates to Management.

Experience and knowledge required:

• Diploma level - QCF Level 4 or higher
• Knowledge of Pensions and investments is essential
• Experience of leading, motivating and supporting a team.
• Training & Development with track record of mentoring individuals successfully
• Proven record of maintaining CPD (Continual Professional Development)
• Previous Paraplanning experience which involved technical research and writing reports focused in PLM (Pension Liability Management).
• Financial Services experience is essential preferably obtained in a life and pensions environment.
• Good knowledge of current industry best practice particularly the FCA requirements for Know Your Client and Suitability
