Are you a driven and experienced accountant looking for a new opportunity in East Yorkshire? We are working with an independent accounting firm based in East Yorkshire, offering a range of accounting services to small-medium sized businesses and sole-traders. The team is modern, forward-thinking, and prides itself on being friendly and approachable.

The Role:

• Carry out payroll service and advising clients on auto-enrolment and pension regulator reviews and submissions
• Managing Construction Industry Scheme return submissions
• Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and other financial reports for a portfolio of clients
• Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance filings, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and regulations
• Provide advice and guidance to clients on accounting and financial matters, addressing their queries and concerns promptly and professionally
• Assist in the development and implementation of efficient accounting processes and systems
• Collaborate with colleagues and senior accountants in providing exceptional client service and maintaining strong client relationships
• Support audits and financial reviews, working closely with auditors to ensure smooth and accurate completion
• Stay updated on accounting standards, legislation, and industry trends, ensuring compliance, and recommending best practices to clients
• Assist in ad-hoc projects and assignments, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges

Key Skills:

• Experience working in an accountancy practice essential
• Methodical working practices
• Analytical with the ability to pick up and question anomalies
• Forward thinking and able to use own initiative
• AAT Level 4 or equivalent
• Quickbooks & Xero experience
• Strong communication skills
• Strong team attributes required
