Working for a charitable organisation in the support sector, this is a Part Time role working 20 hours per week and taking responsibility for running the organisation's finances, payroll and pensions including:
- Managing the day to day financial operations
- Managing the payroll and pension schemes
- To provide financial reporting to the CEO and Trustees
The main responsibilities of the Finance Manager are:
Financial Management
- Operate and manage a computerised payroll system covering PAYE, SMP, SSP etc. in accordance with current legislation so that all workers receive their salaries and expenses
- Manage the administration the auto-enrolment pension scheme (NEST)
- Inform the organisation of any changes relating to finance (such as taxation, insurance, pension) that may have a budgetary impact
- Provide financial reports to the CEO and Trustees on request
- Update the CEO and Treasurer with financial information
- Liaise with Housing Benefit, record and monitor Housing Benefit and manage the Buckinghamshire Council Housing Benefit online portal
- Manage all Direct Debits and Standing Orders
- Manage petty cash, gift vouchers, financial donations and Gift Aid
- Manage the facility fee, deposit and Use & Occupation payment systems
- Raise and send invoices for goods and services provided
- Check for debtors and send statements
- Check and pay all invoices received
- Check bank statements
- Process bank payments
- Ensure contracts with utilities and providers are maintained and competitive
Accounts
- Closely monitor the financial situation by way of income & expenditure spreadsheets, bank reconciliation, profit & loss accounting and cash flow forecasts
- Prepare management accounts and information for Trustee meetings
- In partnership with the CEO and Treasurer, generate the annual budget
- In partnership with the CEO and Operations Manager, generate budgets for any separately funded projects
- Prepare end of year books for accountant and liaise with accountant
Working 20 hours per week, with flexibility and the possibility of hybrid work, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance assistant or Finance Manager to work for a charitable organisation.
Requirements include some recognised accounts qualification such as AAT, experience of an all round finance role, skilled in accountancy software packages and Excel, experience with payroll and pensions, and the ability to work on own initiative.
