Main Purpose of the Job Role:
- Provide timely, professional, and accurate HR support and guidance to managers, employees, and partners across all Human Resources activities.
- Ensure advice given aligns with employment legislation, best practice, council policies, and standards.
- Collaborate with managers, HR, and Payroll Team members to maintain appropriate policies, practices, systems, and procedures.
- Contribute to corporate initiatives and projects as required.

Task Specifics:
Purpose of the Job:
- Provide comprehensive HR advice and support to managers and employees, covering employment terms, recruitment, discipline, performance management, change management, termination, learning and development, absence management, health and wellbeing, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Service to Customers:
- Maintain positive relationships with employees, managers, trade union representatives, public, and external service providers.
- Promote a professional image of the service and the Council, respecting the confidential nature of work.
Business Improvement/Planning Responsibility:
- Support HR objectives and strategies.
- Manage sickness absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases.
- Assist with establishment reviews, recruitment, maternity/paternity/adoption leave, and flexible working policies.
- Contribute to HR policy development and support managers in people management capability.
- Compile reports and assist with specific projects as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications including Mathematics and English.
- Associate Membership of CIPD or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Experience in HR advisory role.
- Self-motivated, organized, and flexible.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills.
- Emotional resilience and ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail.
- Proficient in data analysis and computer systems.
