You are the first face and first conversation visitors to Rhodes Wood Hospital in Hatfield will experience. Your warm and friendly personality will shine through as you greet and assist staff, visitors, and service users.

What you will be doing

In this exciting role at Rhodes Wood Hospital, a service for Specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder service for children and young people aged 12 up to 18 years. Each treatment programme is tailored to the needs of the young person. Each day brings different challenges and experiences. Working 15 hours a week (Wed, Thursday & Fridays 4pm – 9pm) alongside the reception team your key responsibilities will be welcoming all visitors in a friendly manner, co-ordinating the office diary for meetings and events and efficiently handling telephone calls, emails and post.

Ensuring the safety and security of service users, staff and visitors is a top priority. You’ll oversee visitor sign ins, conduct security checks, and manage the distribution of keys and security badges.

As a Receptionist you will be:

• Welcoming all visitors in a friendly manner and ensuring the sign the visitor book.
• Maintaining the upkeep of the reception area & meeting rooms are presentable.
• Managing the office diary for meetings, events, training days and therapy sessions.
• Ensuring confidentially and security to the service.
• Receiving and dealing with telephone calls, emails and post.
• Ad hoc administration tasks.
• Ensuring all appropriate leaflets and brochures are on display.
• Manage deliveries.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience
• Computer skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be professional, confident and diplomatic
• GCSE English Language Grade C or above
• Be efficient and enthusiastic
• Awareness of understanding confidentiality and security
• Ability work alongside a team and independently
• Must be welcoming and self-motivated

You will support a warm and nurturing environment, allowing for the understanding of symptoms, patterns and origins of psychological distress, and will actively encourage children to personalise bedroom spaces to make these feel like a home from home.

There is also an on-site Ofsted Registered school to support young people continue with their education while in hospital. Rhodes Wood Hospital is located on the outskirts of Hatfield, which is easily reachable by car.
