Female Support Worker Required Ref No 18394

The person you will support is looking for an individual who is reliable and motivated. The ideal candidate would be bubbly and outgoing character with a can do attitude, to provide support for the individual and promote her daily living alongside another member of the team on a 2;1 basis.
The person you will be supporting lives within the family property in an extension part of the property which has ample space and designed with her needs at heart. There is a equipped kitchen, bathroom, living area, sensory room and spacious gardens to assist with her rehabilitation and activity goals.
The client has complex care needs with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy and is PEG fed.
The client is looking for some to support her being involved in day to day activities, therapies and assisting with daily care needs. The things she likes to do include music, skiing, baking and going on outings. The client is an enthusiastic person with bundles of personality. She needs someone to assist with all daily living goals and care to suite her needs, whilst ensuring he dignity, safety and wellbeing is maintained.
The young woman requires full assistance with promoting personal care/hygiene, personal safety and wellbeing and supporting nutritional intake with the use of PEG
and FEED regime.
The young woman displays some behaviours that may challenge others and therefore understanding is desirable. Further training and support would be provided.
She requires assistance with administrating medication. You will also be required to write detailed notes on her day to day activities, care and healthcare input.
Previous experience working within care and with complex needs is desirable but full training and support will be given.
Previous care experience is essential and it is desirable to have worked in peoples own homes. You must also have experience of working with people with complex needs and behaviours that may challenge.
Previous knowledge of Suction and Peg use desirable or willing to be trained.
Understanding of cultural needs and practices is desirable
Applicants must have a full driving licence.
Hours of work
Initially 19 hours per week
1400 – 2100 Wednesday and 0800 – 2000 Saturday with potential for flexible hours for additional activities and to cover leave/sickness when required.
Rate of pay
Weekday £14.10 per hour
Weekday (after 8pm) £15.13 per hour
Weekend £17.64 per hour
Weekend (after 8pm) £18.24 per hour
Evening enhancement is provided for the hours worked over 8pm
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
