Based at Eastbourne Community Fire Station
We are looking to recruit an individual to promote and facilitate effective partnership working and social engagement/inclusion through the Service’s activities to reduce the risk to the most vulnerable in the community. Working with another Partnership & Engagement manager, you will, between you, be responsible for delivery across East Sussex and the city of Brighton & Hove
The successful candidate will provide specialist support, expertise and guidance on effective partnership working to other members of the Service’s Management Team responsible for service delivery across the Service area, including the most effective way of allocating limited resources in the securing of Service and Partnership objectives within the scope of prevention (community safety).
The successful candidate will share responsibility, with other prevention managers, for seeking sponsorship, applying for grants and developing appropriate commissioned services to support the delivery of prevention activities.
You will be proactive in maintaining and strengthening the links between East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and other agencies, community groups, voluntary organisations and associations and ensure that ESFRS is represented at relevant strategic, tactical and operational partnerships so the Service continues to reduce the risk to those most vulnerable through Partnership and raise the profile and awareness of ESFRS services. The role includes line management responsibility for some roles.
You will be involved in supporting delivery of our Fire Cadets and there will be occasional evening and weekend working.
You will ensure an appropriate level of knowledge of the three prevention strands (fire, water safety and road safety) to support delivery across the Service area.
The successful candidate will need the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge and understanding of partnership working within a public sector environment
- Ability to identify risks and opportunities and make recommendations
- Experience in one or more of the key prevention strands (Fire, Road safety, Water safety)
- Experience or knowledge in sponsorship, grant funding and developing commissioned services
- Commitment to diversity aims of the organisation
- Excellent communication and priortisation skills
The role will involve travelling to meetings around the county of East Sussex.
