Job description

Job Introduction

The Partnership Manager (Trusts and Statutory) plays a pivotal role in sustaining and growing Diabetes UK’s Trusts and Statutory income. Drawing on your experience of securing high-level funding from trust and/or statutory funders, you will combine managing an existing portfolio of grants with cultivating new relationships and securing new funding that helps to drive forward the charity’s strategic priorities.

This is an exciting time for the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, as we develop a rich and evolving portfolio of strategic projects that will be attractive to a wide range of funders. We are excited at the chance to bring your outcomes-focused fundraising skills on to the team to help us increase our impact for people living with diabetes.

We have a friendly and inclusive working environment here at Diabetes UK and are proud of our hybrid approach which allows great flexibility in the way that we work. This means that you can balance your working time between home and the office, subject to the needs of your role.

Role Responsibility

As Partnership Manager, you will lead on securing and managing high-value (5-6 figure) grants and donations from trusts, foundations, Lottery and statutory funders. You will use the understanding you will gain of Diabetes UK’s strategic priorities and key programmes, matched with your knowledge of the trust/statutory/Lottery funding environment, to identify new partnerships, and take these through the full cycle from application through grant management to final evaluation. You will build strong relationships with colleagues across the charity and with funder representatives, to develop and maintain powerful and long-lasting partnerships.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a highly skilled trusts and/or statutory fundraiser, with experience of securing five- and six-figure donations and grants and managing externally funded projects (including effective use of a CRM). You will enjoy building relationships with teams across the charity, and use your gift for explanation and persuasion to select and deliver on opportunities that achieve greatest impact for Diabetes’ UK’s strategic outcomes. You will combine superb writing skills, rigorous attention to detail, and a creative approach to challenges and opportunities alike. Your naturally collaborative approach to team working is balanced by accountability and a proactive, independent attitude.
