We require a dynamic individual to play a vital role in supporting Cancer Multi-disciplinary Teams (MDTs) in ensuring timely management of the clinical pathways for each cancer patient. You will be responsible for the co-ordination and organisation of all Two Week Wait suspected cancer referrals from GP referral to treatment, which will involve proactively monitoring patients against cancer waiting times targets to ensure that all patients are seen, diagnosed and treated within target. As a core member of a Cancer MDT you will be working closely with a variety of clinical staff and with numerous hospital departments.
In addition to tracking patients you will be required to prepare, facilitate and attend MDT meetings and be responsible for the timely and accurate collection of detailed clinical data. The successful applicant will also play a key role in managing the MDTs' Quality Surveillance process on an annual basis.
You will need to be confident, proactive and have excellent written and communication skills. The role is extremely busy and involves working within a pressured environment, therefore excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills are a requirement. Experience of using a variety of IT systems, including the Microsoft Office package is essential. Experience of working in the NHS and a good working knowledge of hospital systems are desirable.
