Reed Accountancy is delighted to be working with a well-established client in North Tyneside in their search for an experienced Payroll & Accounts Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be able to process payroll from start to finish with confidence and accuracy. Although the role will be heavily focussed on payroll, there will also be other accounting tasks such as invoice processing so is a great opportunity for payroll candidates wanting to step into a more varied accountancy role.
Working in a close-knit team, your duties will include:
- End-to-end payroll processing for the company:
- Recording payroll data in the company’s software system
- Calculating overtime, salary increases and shift payments
- Processing holiday, sick and maternity pay
- Issuing P45s and other necessary tax forms
- Answering employee queries relating to payroll
- Maintaining compliant policies and procedures
- Deducting tax and national insurance payments
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
- Assist with accounts payable processes
- Support financial reporting activities
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate financial records
- Handle general administrative tasks related to accounting
You will have:
- At least 2 years' experience in payroll/Accounts Assistant roles
- Familiarity with general accounting principles
- Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
- Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of payroll and accounting software
- Excellent math and numerical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
