Operating from three sites, the client is a global leader in paper-based packaging solutions. They are looking for an experienced Payroll Administratorto join their team onsite to support with the weekly and monthly paid employees, ensuring prompt and accurate payments.
Job Title:Payroll Administrator
Salary: £31,742 per annum
Fixed Term Contract 12 - 18 months
Hours: 36 hours per week
Mon - Thurs: 8:30pm - 4:30pm
Fri - 8:30pm - 4:15pm
Location: Birmingham - Office based 5 days a week
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining all necessary records, both computerised and manual, and processing all changes to payroll and employee data in compliance with policy and payroll requirements
- Inputting and processing monthly and weekly payroll for all employees
- Producing and completing payroll journals, including input into the payroll programme for accounting purposes
- Liaising with Pensions Administrators concerning employee and Company queries
- A point of contact for employee and management queries relating to payroll issues
- Updating and maintaining all three Company’s HR systems
- Providing information, maintaining records and carrying out all duties in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
- Providing cover and support for HR colleagues as required, contributing to office cover in accordance with the needs of the Department
- Exercising absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters, and ensuring the security and confidentiality of information are always maintained
- Maintaining and developing your skills to keep up with the demands of changing technology
- Engaging and participating in the continuous improvement culture
The ideal candidate...
- Previous experience in payroll administration and processing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication written and verbal
- Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and innovation
- 5 GCSE’s A-C Grades or equivalent
- Knowledge of Sage Payroll is essential
- Knowledge of a Time & Attendance system is desirable
