Our client, a really great independent firm of Chartered Accountants located in the heart of Buckingham, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll administrator to join their growing team on a part-time basis.
The firm has an excellent reputation in the market with a client base of over 700 businesses and they offer a really supportive and friendly team environment.
The role will be office based and requires the successful candidate to work 25 hours ideally over 5 days.
Key responsibilities:
- Sharing responsibility along with the other Payroll Administrator, for the payrolls operated by the practice, reporting to the Directors on a regular basis.
- Managing the relationships with payroll clients and be the first port of call for client queries.
- Planning workload and timings to ensure that payrolls go out on time to clients.
- Timely and accurate billing of all payroll clients.
- Onboarding new payroll clients, requesting all necessary data for transfer, ready for payroll processing
- Taking on responsibility for new payroll registrations with HMRC, setting up on Sage and setting up new pension accounts where necessary
- Assisting the Accountants with payroll queries
- Responsible for pension re-enrolment for all clients
- Responsible for submitting CIS tax information to HMRC for clients who have this scheme in place
- Managing regular preparation of relevant payroll management reports as necessary both internally for colleagues and externally for clients
- Managing IT requirements for payroll
- CPD - Organising webinars or training for Payroll team
- Working with Accounts Managers and Directors to determine tax efficient salaries for Directors payrolls
- Monitoring workload and efficiency of the payroll team
Skills Required:
- Experience using Sage Payroll and Xero Payroll is essential for this role
- Good time management
- As is the case with payroll, the busy period is the back end of the month, so the role requires someone who can be flexible.
