Do you have previous payroll experience and able to work within a finance team completing a wide range of duties? Are you confident with the use of MS office and in particular Excel including the use of VLookups and Sage ideally? If so, our client is looking to find a person to join their existing team to cover a maternity leave to start ASAP.
Responsibilities will be to assist and support the Finance Manager and Finance Team, helping to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance Department.
Although training on the industry specific knowledge will be given an outline of the duties include…
- Processing of weekly payroll in a timely manner with attention to details
- Logging and processing information such as holiday, sickness, bonus payments and updating employee records as required
- Answer incoming calls to the Accounts Department. Resolve any issues arising where you can, including assisting with customer queries. Ensure where you are unable to deal with the call that a detailed message is taken and promptly passed to the individual who can.
- Assist and be able to process all Driver Daily Run sheets for company fleet vehicles.
- Complete daily, the Bank, ledger postings. Ensure all transactions are correctly recorded in Sage with attention to Nominal Code, VAT Breakdown etc. Exercise caution and robustly monitor the account for instances of fraudulent activity and report to line manager if and when suspected.
- Complete Weekly Internet Invoicing, ensure all tickets booked on internal systems reconcile to online payments. Ensure all invoiced charges are correct
- Assist and support other members of the Finance Department with any other duties when required.
Knowledge and Experience
- General knowledge of SAGE
- Able to confidently use MS Office including Excel at a intermediate level (Vlookups)
- Excellent attention to details with the ability to prioritise
- Flexible to help others within the department
- Excellent communication skills and confident to be point of contact to others
Working hours
Some flexibility can be given for between 30- 37.5 hours per week but 5 days must be worked in office Monday to Friday. (Salary will be pro rata to reflect hours worked.)
