As an Interim Payroll Lead/Consultant, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the payroll processes and procedures within this organisation. The role involves managing both in-house (SagePay) and outsourced (Moorepay) payrolls, conducting monthly reconciliations, and recommending improvements. This is an initial 3-month contract with a focus on achieving efficient and accurate payroll management.
KEY DUTIES:
Payroll Management:
- Oversee two payrolls (SagePay and Moorepay) efficiently.
- Reconcile payroll on a monthly basis from April 2023 to March 2024 for both in-house and outsourced services.
- Proficiently handle reconciliation of payroll control accounts, PAYE & NI control accounts, and pension accounts (Nest Pensions for 40 staff under SagePay).
Process Improvement:
- Analyse existing processes and procedures.
- Recommend and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
- Develop a comprehensive month-end checklist and procedure.
Professional Expertise:
- Leverage 3-5 years of payroll experience to navigate complexities.
- Demonstrate strength in payroll reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain control over Paye & NI accounts and pension-related transactions.
Cover for Payroll Colleague:
- Provide coverage for a two-week period in May when the Payroll Colleague is on leave.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Wednesday: In-office presence.
- Thursday & Friday: Remote work.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with SagePay.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and other relevant software at an intermediate level.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Ability to work effectively within a small team.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships.
Professionalism:
- Proven ability to operate independently.
- Maintain a controlled and professional approach, focusing on the task at hand despite external noise.
