The Role
The People Team are recruiting for an interim People Business Partner to provide some dedicated focus in our largest Skylight in London, with the potential to then scale up any successful interventions to other Skylights. This is an exciting time to join us as the team at London are making some great progress in their cultural transformation.
Contract: 12 months fixed term
Location: 3 days a week onsite at the London Skylight (located in E1) with some homeworking possible , and a requirement for some travel to other Skylights in England, Scotland and Wales.
About the role
As People Business Partner you will provide expertise on employee relations, cultural transformation, employee engagement and relationship building. The role will be varied managing both day to day issues and longer term transformational work.
You will work closely with the leadership team within the Skylight, our union colleagues and the wider People team and Learning/OD team. You will be visible and approachable to the staff team and become a trusted colleague within the Skylight working to bring colleagues closer together as everyone unites to deliver on the operational requirements and longer term strategic ambitions.
You will play a key role in embedding some of the work of the wider People team such as new resolution methods, coaching and mediation. You will also play a key role in establishing a staff forum within the Skylight.
You will have opportunities to contribute to project work within the Skylight, wider Client Services Directorate and the People team playing a key role in ensuring that our people practices are developed through effective collaboration with stakeholders and in line with our new corporate values.
You will be a member of the extended management team within the People Team; helping to shape our plans to deliver most impact.
About you
This role will require a postholder who can identify opportunities for improvements and collaboration. Someone who is experienced in employee relations, building relationships, creating momentum and positive change. You will have a person centred approach and be able to provide clarity and simplicity to complex matters.
You will have a solid background operating autonomously at Partner level and the ability to capitalise on wider organisational people and culture initiatives; bringing them to life locally and delivering tangible outcomes.
A background in mediation, project management, and change management would be a distinct advantage.
Whilst a background in the homelessness sector is not essential, an understanding of the broad challenges will be required in order to best support the team at the Skylight.
