Job Title: People/HR and Finance Administrator (Part-time)
Hours: 24 hours a week. We don’t mind how those hours are worked; it could be 3 days a week or spread over 5 days.
Onsite/Remote working: Depending on how the hours are worked, 1 or 2 days a week required on-site, and the rest can be on-site or home working. Whichever suits you best.
Salary: £18,000 per annum - 24 hours a week. (£30k FTE).
Ciao! We are Hackney Gelato, set up by two chefs, Sam and Enrico, and we are passionate about delivering authentic Italian Gelato into restaurants, delis, cafes and shops across the land so that everyone can experience Michelin star quality ice cream.
We are a small business, but we are growing quickly – check out our website and the journey we’ve been on so far! We’ve got a small headcount of 25 people which includes our office staff, warehouse and the production team.
We are looking for a part-time People / HR & Finance Administrator. This is a role for someone who has good business administrator experience and is happy to get stuck in and help support the team. As the company grows, there will be opportunity to learn more and develop in these areas.
Role and Responsibilities:
As our Part-Time People / HR and Finance Administrator, you will be doing:
- Bookkeeping administration and support for our Finance Manager.
- Supporting and processing payroll using Sage payroll.
- HR Administration such as offer letters and contracts.
- Maintaining and updating our people system, Hibob.
- Support managers with new starters on-boarding.
Ideal skills & experience:
- A couple of years experience in Business/HR/Finance Administration is essential with an interest to develop in HR or Finance.
- Ability to deal with confidential information effectively.
- Great attention to detail. Be confident to spot any errors and act on them.
- Organised! Someone who can manage their time well.

1st stage = A team’s interview with the People Partner. Getting to know you and understand your experience better as well as understanding what your goals are.
2nd stage = An in-person interview on-site at our Hackney Gelato HQ. This will be with our People Partner and Finance Manager.
