People Manager
Location: Hybrid, home based + Central London [Holborn] co-working space.
Job type: Full Time, Permanent [open to part-time hours, please ask]
We are a UK based Med Comms agency, with a team of 55 amazing employees. With ambitious growth plans, we are now looking for our first People Manager, who can help us with developing our people plans, support our teams, and cultivate our positive culture.
The role:
• Management of employee life cycle: induction /on boarding, development support, performance management, reward and benefits, through to managing the leaver process.
• Talent: managing the end-to-end resourcing process including designing the process to reduce reliance on agencies, attracting via job boards, LinkedIn etc, creating job ads / specs, conducting CV sift, screening interviews, background checks and referencing.
• Learning needs analysis; partnering with Line Managers o identify group and individual learning needs, formulating a Company learning plan and cascading and co-ordinating learning activity through the Agency.
• People process, procedures and policies; keeping track of any updates to legislation, creating employee contracts, right to work checks and related people related administration.
• Provide expert people advice and support, partnering with our Line Managers and Leaders to adopt fair and effective people management process.
• Provide reports and analysis of people data, identifying strengths and challenges and recommending actions.
• Partnering with the Management team in the development of the Agency performance management processes.
• Employee engagement and wellbeing: aligning our people processes with our values, mission and strategic objectives and supporting the continued development of our positive culture [team social activities, employee feedback mechanisms, calendar of wellbeing events).
People Manager requirements:
• Experience of implementing initiatives that support a positive employee culture and drive employee engagement.
• Generalist skillset: able to work on pro-active projects as well as managing day to day people activity, across talent, learning and development, employee relations and people process.
• Knowledge of current UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Recruitment process / best practice; must have direct sourcing experience.
• CIPD qualified level 5 or above
• Able to work autonomously (will have senior people support from HR Consultant where required).
• Flexible, pro-active, and agile approach to work.
