This is a varied and hands-on role, ideally suited to an HR/People generalist who enjoys working as part of a small team within a multi-studio architectural practice. The People Manager role is the sole HR specialist within the business.
Working closely with directors across the practice, the People Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the business’ People policies and processes as well as supporting on health and safety and training. They are supported by the finance team and the Operations Director.

Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the ADP People policies and processes.
- Helping to create a sense of belonging and community in our studios.
- Evolving and continually improving the ADP People processes to provide a high-quality employee-focused department which reflects the ADP Vision.
- Supporting employees in their professional development process and with personal improvement plans.
- Maintaining knowledge of regulations and legislation associated with ADP People processes.
- Advising the Executive Leadership Team on HR matters and providing monthly reports on activity.
- Supporting studios in their recruitment requirements and managing the administration of the recruitment process.
- Managing the onboarding, probation and leavers process.
- With the finance team, assist with the employee benefit processes and payroll.
- Carrying out risk and workplace assessments associated with ADP People processes.
- Working with the CPD Coordinator and Operations Director to implement a suitable training and CPD curriculum and keeping the ADP Academy information up to date.
- Complying with, and supporting, the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
Requirements
HR Generalist experience, ideally a minimum of 2 years:
- An excellent standard of oral and written English
- A professional attitude with good planning and time management
- Excellent communication skills with a positive and collegiate approach to teamwork
- Minimum CIPD Level 5 or other relevant qualification/work experience Excellent organisation and communication skills Able to build supportive and effective relationships with a wide range of team members quickly across multiple studios Self-motivated and able to work autonomously when needed
- Experience in the construction design sector is an advantage, but not a requirement.
The role will be mainly studio-based with some flexibility for ad-hoc home working.
The preferred location for this national role is at our London studio but other locations will be considered. Occasional travel to other UK studios may be required (London, Birmingham, Oxford, Manchester and Edinburgh).
