Job overview

My name is Justine and I’m the Ward Manager of the Kingfisher Mother & Baby Unit. The Kingfisher Mother & Baby Unit is 1 of 21 specialist inpatient units in the UK.

Our 8 bedded family centred unit opened in January 2019 to provide interventions to women with moderate to severe Mental Health conditions
from 3rd trimester, up to 12 months post-natal. The reason this provision of care is so unique is that the mothers are offered assessment and
treatment of their Mental Health whilst being supported to meet the care needs of their baby and nurture the parent infant relationship. It is widely
recognised that keeping mother and baby together improves outcomes for both, mother and infants Mental Health.

Our Kingfisher MBU MDT is highly skilled. Treatment is informed by the MBU Perinatal Specialists in the following disciplines health visitor, parent infant therapist, nurses, midwives, clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, occupational therapist and social worker to name a few.

As a Perinatal staff nurse you will work in partnership with the MDT and leadership team to deliver high quality, innovative specialist care.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit motivated and passionate staff nurses.

We have permanent opportunities available.

The ideal candidate will work across a shift pattern of days and nights, ensuring clinical care is at the forefront of practice. Including robust
assessment of mother & baby, thorough documentation processes, implementing improvements in care based on evidenced based practice and national guidance.

The successful candidate will work alongside the MDT and leadership team to ensure a safe and high standard of care in line with the trust values
and National standards for Perinatal care, as well as supporting the wider strategic aims of the service. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills will be required as well as the ability to demonstrate a passion for both continuity and for person centred care.

Working for our organisation

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly, and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.

Why work for us? We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established nursing networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.

Why Norfolk and Suffolk? The people here are warm and welcoming, you’ll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park.
We’re an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of
history, independent cafes, shops and theatres. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

If you believe you can offer these women and their babies the care and compassion that they deserve, this is a job for you. This service can offer
