Sellick Partnership are excited to be recruiting to an excellent permanent opportunity for a specialist Employment Lawyer to join a well-regarded team at a world-leading University.
Our client is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their small, friendly team and hit the ground running as soon as possible; therefore a short notice period is highly advantageous. This is a position that has been newly created and would be an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable Employment Lawyer, ideally 8 years+ PQE, to secure a permanent position in a prestigious London University.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing advice on all aspects of employment and related law such as: recruitment, harassment and bullying, whistleblowing, redundancy and dismissal, trade unions and industrial actions and TUPE
- Acting as a key liaison who will provide strategic advice to ensure employment law matters are planned and handled appropriately
- Managing case work in tribunals and Courts, helping draft submissions
- Assessing matters in a timely manner to see if they need to be referred to external lawyers, while working closely and managing external lawyers and counsel
- Ensuring consistency and helping implement the best practises by advising on HR policies and processes, and providing guidance and training
- Contributing to the Legal services team by offering training and mentoring to junior colleagues as well as assisting in building precedent banks particularly with any upcoming legal and regulatory developments
The successful Employment Lawyer will possess the following:
- Must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive)
- Confidence in holding and managing their own caseload
- The ability to provide expert knowledge and guidance to leadership in employment and HR decisions
- Being able to assist with statements regarding political matters
- Experience of working at a University, Union, or Charity would be beneficial
Flexible working arrangements are possible. Our client is open to full-time candidates, part-time candidates as well as job shares. The ideal candidate will be able to attend the office once a week. The offices are well located near public transport links.
