An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Secretary/PA to join a friendly team within a reputable accountancy firm. The successful candidate will provide high-level organisational support to the office and assist the Partners in managing their time effectively to meet the needs of the practice.
Day to Day of the role:- Manage partners’ portfolios and arrange meetings, ensuring effective diary management.
- Handle incoming and outgoing post, including sending Letters of Engagement to clients.
- Set up new clients on the company platform and incorporate new companies with Companies House.
- Provide reception cover when needed, answering phone calls and conducting AML checks on clients.
- Utilise Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel for various tasks.
- Submit tax returns to HMRC and accounts to Companies House.
- Invoice clients and follow up on outstanding debts.
- Assist with the accounts and tax return filing process, managing portfolio deadlines.
- Prepare documents, write reports, and handle company secretarial work (training provided).
- Manage and prioritise confidential emails and general office administration.
- Liaise with clients and staff, maintaining professional communication at all levels.
- Previous work experience within an accountancy practice is ideal.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high standard of written grammar.
- Initiative and the ability to prioritise work appropriately.
- Quick learner with the ability to understand the business and make judgements on key issues.
- Friendly, assertive, and confident demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages; knowledge of accountancy/cosec software is beneficial.
- Experience with mail merges and CCH software is advantageous, though training will be provided.
