This is an exciting opportunity for a new role within the Arts, Culture and Leisure Service at Wakefield Council.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic team member to lead a busy portfolio of work. The successful candidate will drive forward delivery projects, whilst also playing a key role to enable and support our wider network of voluntary organisations and trusted partners and working together to increase and diversify participation and wellbeing across Wakefield District.

What will I be doing?
- Working within and managing a team focussing on improving health and reducing health inequalities through Physical Activity Programmes
- Ensuring high quality delivery and coordination of various targeted projects that encourage greater participation in Physical Activity by a wider and more diverse range of people including those from under represented groups and those not traditionally involved
- Working in partnership and influencing key stakeholders to support areas of work, such as the cycle Wakefield steering group and Transportation team, to steer and deliver strategies and to monitor the progress.
- Working towards clear Corporate Objective’s such as supporting every child to ride a bike by age 12.
- Identifying resident and stakeholder needs relevant to the area of work through analysis of qualitative and quantitative information.
- Review of national standards and best practice to ensure that Physical Activity improvement work is targeted appropriately.
- Making a case for Physical Activity and securing additional resources as a result.
