Service: Student Support and Success Services The University has seen a rapid growth in academic programmes that include a placement option at both Postgraduate and Undergraduate level, and we are seeking an experienced employability professional to support our students into graduate level positions. We are determined to improve the graduate employment outcomes for all our students and have an ambitious strategy to ensure that all students have access to placements or work-based learning opportunities by 2025. The role will principally support the Faculty of Business & Law as Business has seen the biggest area of growth recently for placements, but successful candidates will be expected to support on University-wide employability related events, employability projects and employer engagement as needs arise to ensure maximum flexibility across the wider team. We are seeking a candidate who can help build our reputation with employers and have strong personal networks to enable this and actively source placement opportunities exclusively for our students. This will include consulting with employers to ensure roles are fit for purpose, are effectively advertised and suitable students are shortlisted for opportunities. As Placements and Business Engagement Adviser you will also actively contribute preparing students for their placements or other work-based learning activities both in curriculum and in extra-curricular 1-2-1s and group-based activities. You will hold an important role in approving student-sourced placements against set guidelines ensuring they meet programme requirements and are health and safety, and visa compliant.
