UKCBC is a leading Education provider in the alternative education provider segment with 2 Campuses around London. We are seeking to appoint a Student Engagement Officer to undertake a varied range of academic administrative duties to support the students and teaching staff in the overall delivery of the academic programmes.
In today’s world, the student journey has become increasingly complex and even more important to students, who understandably seek more reassurance and clearer information than ever before.
This role focuses on the students journey with their time spent as student. Working closely with key areas of UKCBC, you will be responsible for the overall, end-to-end delivery of the most transformational thing we have done for our students. This will predominantly be the development and implementation of our Student Journey programme.
About the Student Engagement Officer Role:
As our Student Engagement Officer, you can expect to be the first member of staff to be approached by students and this role is to implement and take responsibility for a comprehensive and effective welfare and support service for students and where necessary involve Academic Support, Professional Support, and Personal support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of our Student Engagement Officer:
- Learning about the various specialist support services that exist on the campus/remotely and to advise students accordingly.
- To organise student representatives’ elections and arrange termly students committee meetings.
- Working with Tutors, Module Coordinators, Course Coordinators and the Course Directors to ensure welfare of students.
- To support in other administrative tasks relating to student records or activities, as directed
- To support and monitor student coursework submissions on their access to UWL and UKCBC learning portals
- Dealing with students Moodle queries and ensure logins are created
- Collecting and analysing student feedback
- Assisting in the coordination of Enrichment week
- Minute-taking for Academic Committee meetings, and follow-up activities
- Liaising between academic department members and students to follow up with assignments
What we’re looking for in our Student Engagement Officer:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Experience working in the Education sector
- A proven track of working in a busy team and building beneficial working relationships across teams
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong organisational skills, attention to details and ability to work with a high level of accuracy
- Personable and able to build rapport easily with students and staff
- Ability to deal confidently and sensitively with students and team members
- IT literate, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Word
Beneficial experience (but not required)
- Working with E-Learning platforms such as Moodle, VLEs
- Experience in organising student societies, task groups
