Planner & Scheduler
Job Purpose:
Our client designs and manufactures the industry benchmark in high security doors. When sold, their highly technical and bespoke products move from the Sales team through to the Design area and into Production and, finally, Installation at the Customer premises.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director, the Planner and Scheduler is accountable for the planning, scheduling, and completion of all Customer jobs within the required timescales. This role requires exceptional influencing, communication, and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to see the bigger picture as delivering to our customer's is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the flow of jobs through the complete production cycle to ensure all jobs are completed within the required timeframes and to the highest quality standard.
  • Identify activities, or sequences of activities, which are material and critical to the timely delivery of jobs and effectively communicate these to department Managers and the Leadership Team.
  • Continue to deliver a realistic schedule for delivery of multiple jobs simultaneously, while ensuring accuracy, and under severe time constraints.
  • Follow each job through to conclusion whilst communicating effectively with all parties.
  • Ensure the development and completion of job progress milestones to ensure jobs are on track.
  • Find the balance between understanding how each component part of a job works and maintaining a helicopter view of what needs to be delivered.
  • Provide an overview of current and upcoming situations based on work in progress, planned work, seasonal factors, and any other information available.
  • Highlight and communicate any risks to deliverables to the Leadership team along with workable solutions.
  • Use the latest technology to ensure effective planning and scheduling whilst giving complete visibility to the Leadership team.
  • Provides daily/weekly updates on the planning and scheduling of job orders to all departments to satisfy customer delivery dates.
  • Responsible for achieving monthly targets and KPI's, as agreed.
  • Build good business relationships with all key stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and external consultants.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of jobs so they are completed within the required timeframes and to the highest quality standard.
  • Accountable for any costs incurred within this role.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • The accuracy and effectiveness of planning and scheduling, and associated systems.
  • Following the business processes in place and making recommendations for improvements.
  • As the business reviews and updates its processes and working practices, be flexible to embrace any changes or new ways of working.
  • Carrying out the role with honesty and integrity, whilst demonstrating the company values, and with the company's best interest at heart.

Required knowledge/ attributes/ skills:

  • Experience of working within agreed targets, KPI's, and deadlines.
  • The ability to make sound commercial decisions.
  • Strong operational and commercial orientation with a focus on establishing and maintaining relationships to deliver KPI's.
  • A friendly people person with excellent verbal communication, influencing skills, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Salary:

  • £26,000 - £29,000

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday / 9.00am - 5.00pm
