Planning Manager

My well known client based in Kendal is seeking a Factory Planner. You will be a fast learner and a real team motivator too. Its a small team, but you will be at the heart of the factory so will have a lot of responsibility.

The role:

This is a unique and agile role that will involve you managing and working within a team of 3 to create a Production Plan from our Demand Forecast using appropriate processes and systems, supporting the business with regards to the forecast outlook, and ensuring that Kendal is meeting its commitment to customers.

This role sits at the centre of their growing business and will involve you working cross-functionally with Procurement, Production and Sales. You will report directly to the Factory Manager and work in close collaboration with their executive team.

This is a great opportunity for an individual to take on a new challenge, build on their current experience and develop themselves across different areas of the factory.

This is a full-time role based at their headquarters in Kendal. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop the production plan for the business with an 18-month horizon, working cross-functionally with Sales & Finance.
• Manage a production plan that maximises factory efficiency and productivity.
• Determine, with the support of your team, the quantities of raw material required for both our site in Kendal, but also our toll manufacturing sites.
• Monitor the progress of the factory to ensure that service levels to the warehouse are met.
• Manage the control of finished goods stock levels so as to minimise disposals.
• Assist the Procurement team with inputs and contribute as required to help resolve any supply related issues.
• Participate in New Product Development projects as required.
• Complying with safety procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role.

What we would like you to have:

• Minimum 4 years Demand Planning experience, preferably in food.
• Team-Management experience, though doesn't need to be extensive.
• Skilled in Excel with experience in forecasting and/or a capacity to learn on the job.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Strong communication skills, acting as the bridge between Procurement, Production and Sales.
• Highly Analytical and able to work under pressure on your own initiative.
• Understanding of production planning, material supply and NPD processes.
