Postdoctoral Research Associate

From circa 1st July 2024 for 3 years 1 Post A PDRA position is available starting ca. 01 July 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for 12 months initially but the position is available for up 3 years. The PDRA will be supervised by Prof. Stephen Thomas (ST) and is based in the School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. This position is funded by the EPSRC through a programme grant awarded to a team led by Prof. Guy Lloyd-Jones FRS “Boron: Beyond the Reagent”.  The main group offers a sustainable future for catalysis. This grant will build the understanding needed to exploit and apply these new modes of catalysis. This project will study the fundamental and applied chemistry of group 13 and group 14 compounds for catalysis. This project requires a highly motivated candidate with expertise in catalysis and synthesis and /or main group synthesis and a range of key characterisation techniques. The candidate should be capable of working under their own initiative and leading a small research team. The successful applicant will be based in the Thomas Group labs and join a diverse team of 10 people who are all focused on different aspects of sustainable catalysis and organoboron chemistry.
