The research group Theory of quantum matter and information at Tampere University, Finland, currently has 7 researchers and is led by Prof. Teemu Ojanen. The group works on topics of theoretical quantum condensed matter physics and quantum information. Our recent publications can be found here.
Job Description
We are looking for Postdoctoral Researchers to work on Theory of quantum materials and quantum information aspects of many-body systems. The ideal candidates should have strong background and interest in a number of the following fields: Theory of many-body systems, quantum information and many-body entanglement, Theory of complex quantum systems, machine-learning methods applied to physics, numerical methods in strongly correlated systems and high-performance computing, topological materials, quantum simulation of many-body systems.
Requirements
- PhD degree in theoretical physics (or equivalent);
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills in many-body quantum physics or related fields.
We offer
The position will be for a period of 2 years. The starting date is preferably during the first half of 2024, but mutually agreed upon by both parties. A trial period of six (6) months applies to all our new employees. The salary will be based on both the position requirements and the employee’s personal performance in accordance with the Salary system of Finnish universities. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the position of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow is placed on level 5-6 of the job requirements scale. In addition to the basic salary, a supplementary salary will be paid according to personal performance, depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Typical salaries start from 3600 euros per month in total.
