Job description

Lincolnshire County Council has an exciting opportunity for a Practice Supervisor to lead and manage the West Lindsey East Children's Health Team.

We are looking for a practitioner who is dynamic and forward thinking with experience and expert knowledge in the delivery of the healthy child programme,. The practitioner should be confident and competent and have the ability to manage and implement change. 

Our Children's 0-19 Health Service includes the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme by Health Visitors, Children and Young People's Nurses and Family Health Workers. The revised Healthy Child Programme is Public Health Nurse led and we are seeking interest from those who have a vision of how the changes can be applied in practice to ensure impact and secure improved outcomes.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will need to hold current registration with NMC and be a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse with an active mentor status and /or supervision qualification.

Promoting and developing integrated approaches to care is integral to the role. The ideal candidate will work alongside and support integration with our wider Children's Services colleagues in Social Care, Early Help and Early Years, to ensure the population in Lincolnshire receive timely and appropriate intervention from the most appropriate source.  

You will need to provide evidence of both experience and expert knowledge of the priorities within Public Health agendas, with specific insight into the needs and key priorities for families residing within Lincolnshire. 

You need to be confident and competent in both children's and adult's safeguarding legislation, practice and procedures in order to actively engage in multi-agency meetings, discussions and escalation of safeguarding concerns. You will provide safeguarding supervision to your staff therefore previous experience in this field would be beneficial.

We are looking for a practitioner who has an understanding of clinical governance and must be able to articulate how they apply processes and practices, which evidence how their staff and the organisation meet the requirements to be safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led.  You must be able to identify any deficit in these domains and provide support to make improvements. This will require an ability to think analytically, fact find to enable reporting and timely escalation.

As a Practice Supervisor you will demonstrate the ability to manage and implement change sensitively, using a distributive leadership style. We are seeking someone who utilises a restorative approach which promotes a shared vision of service priorities within the organisation.
