Practice Accountant / Part Qualified Accountant

Part Time, 37.5 hours per week.

We are a friendly, family owned firm of Chartered Accountants based in Lichfield.

Established in 2005, we are a growing practice who specialise in providing tax and accountancy advice to small businesses and individuals.

We use the latest technology to assist our clients and work as efficiently as possible.

We are now looking to recruit a Practice Accountant.

This role would suit a Part Qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA or qualified by experience accountant with good experience in general practice.

The role is based in the firm’s office in Lichfield, Staffordshire, West Midlands.

Full time role. 37.5 hours per week preferable option, but some flexibility of 4 full days per week for the right candidate.

Package: Basic salary of £30,000 to £40,000 dependent on experience, plus a range of benefits.

Job description:

Accountant requiredfor a friendly, family owned accountancy practice, based in Lichfield. This is a full time, 37.5 hours per week role and would suit someone who has previous experience of working in an Accountancy Practice and now wants to work with a small, friendly, professional, local team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of year end accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies, including tax provisions
• Preparation and review of VAT Returns
• Preparation of Management Accounts
• Ad hoc bookkeeping and adjustments in online accounting packages such as Xero, Freeagent and Quickbooks
• Reporting to the Managing Director

Skills / Experience;

You will have at least 3 years previous experience of working as an Accountant / Part Qualified Accountant in a professional accountancy practice.

You will be qualified or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA or be Qualified by Experience with good experience in general practice.

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional accountancy office.

- Experience of dealing with a diverse range of businesses within a practice setting.

A working knowledge of accounting packages such as Iris, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks

- Experience working with sole-trader and Limited company accounts, corporation tax and VAT

- Excellent IT skills including Excel

- Established communication skills both written and verbal for interaction with clients and colleagues

- To be a team player

- A full, clean driving licence for occasional visits to client premises
