- Salary: On a temporary basis the role pays £15 per hour PAYE, Umbrella Contractor £18.00 per hour, the permanent salary is £26-28,000 per annum

- Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, the school can be flexible in regard to hours, 7.30am to 5pm or 6.30am to 10.30am and 3pm to 6.30pm.
We are currently seeking a Premises Manager to join a dynamic primary school in Bethnal Green, East London. This is a permanent position with the potential for a temp to perm arrangement. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. This role requires someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent IT skills for daily health and safety checks and record-keeping.
Day-to-day of the role:- Oversee the maintenance, security, and day-to-day running of the school premises.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify areas requiring maintenance or improvement.
- Coordinate with contractors and manage repair works to ensure minimal disruption to school activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate records.
- Utilise IT systems daily to log health and safety checks and their results.
- Manage the premises team, delegating tasks and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and upkeep are maintained.
- Assist with the setup and takedown of events and functions within the school.
- Respond to emergency situations or urgent issues as they arise.
- Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role.
- Recognised qualification in at least one building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or engineering services discipline (City & Guilds or similar).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent IT skills for logging and tracking maintenance and safety activities.
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with staff and external contractors.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to handle out-of-hours emergencies.
- Experience of monitoring and liaising with contractors and suppliers.
- Full working knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation.
