The Position
We’re looking for a highly motivated programme officer with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to run the Schools’ Outreach programmes.
Current Schools’ Outreach Programmes are:
1.Work experience programmes (350-400 students per year participate at different times during the year)
2. University Preparation and Access Programmes
3. Corporate Mentoring Programmes
4. Corporate Insight Days
Annual Rate: £35,000
Location: London or Birmingham with travel to schools in different parts of the UK as required
Job Type: Permanent Role
Earliest Start Date: Autumn 2023
Security Clearance: DBS Clearance and references will be required
Responsibilities and Duties:
● Managing the existing Schools’ Outreach Programmes
● Creating new Schools’ Outreach programmes
● Reporting and creating evaluation models for Schools’ Outreach programmes
● Monitoring and reporting on student progress during and after programmes
● Adjusting the existing Schools’ Outreach programmes where necessary
● Organising and creating work experience programmes
● Organising and creating mentoring programmes
● Organising and creating industry skills workshops
● Run a high-volume rolling student recruitment volunteering mentoring campaign
● Run a high volume rolling corporate volunteer mentoring campaign
● Planning STEM activities to be delivered by 3rd parties for students
● Liaising with universities to deliver academic sessions and organise residential visits
● Organising and attending events with students
● Representing the organisation with companies, schools, colleges, universities, teachers, and parents
● Ensure compliance with all necessary health and safety legislation for every event.
Essential skills and experience:
● Ability to manage multiple tasks
● Previous event planning and programme management experience
● Partnership building experience
● Proposal writing and fundraising experience
● Problem solving and critical thinking
● Regular reporting and evaluation creating and writing skills
● 2 years previous experience of project management
● Rapport building
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
