PRIMARY ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER FOR SAFEGUARDING AND INCLUSION (Cavendish School)

Salary Range L1-L4 - £47,185 - £50,807

Then this may be the position for you. As a non-class based leader, you will have the opportunity to make a difference to all pupils in our wonderful school.

We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher to be responsible for Safeguarding and Inclusion within the primary phase. The role will include responsibilities of an Assistant Headteacher (whole school improvement) as well as leading provision for our most vulnerable pupils. 

The Assistant Headteacher will have specific responsibility for: 

  • Safeguarding
  • Inclusion including behaviour for learning
  • Provision and outcomes for vulnerable pupils 
  • Mental health of pupils 
  • Attendance and Punctuality

This is a unique opportunity to secure a significant leadership role, not only working in the Primary Phase but also working closely with leadership colleagues in the Secondary Phase and other schools within the Trust.  The role also plays an integral part in the development of the Cavendish Education Trust of which Cavendish is the founding school.

It is an exciting time to join the leadership team following our recent OFSTED inspection in September 2023 which indicated the school could be Judged Outstanding. The Assistant Headteacher for Safeguarding and Inclusion will be pivotal in driving the highest expectations through our outstanding curriculum which spans from Early Years to Year 11. 

As the Assistant Headteacher for Safeguarding and Inclusion, you will have access to a range of excellent resources offered by us as an all-through school: 

  • Professional development across both phases
  • An onsite IT team who provide the highest quality of IT outreach  to the Primary Phase
  • An attendance team to support the strive for excellence through the very highest expectations for pupil attendance.  
  • Opportunities to work with other SENCO and DSL colleagues within the Trust in an exciting opportunity to shape policy and practice across the Trust.
