Primary School Learning Support Assistant

Nocturnal Recruitment are looking for experienced LSA / Learning Support Assistants with previous experience of working within the education sector in the Medway area to cover Day-to-Day, temporary and permanent placements.
This role includes LSA / Learning Support Assistants covering Primary Schools within the Medway, and supporting children aged 5-11 with their education. You should be an effective communicator with a calm, patient and caring approach to supporting students.
You must be passionate about your role as a LSA / Learning Support Assistant and bring a comforting, patient atmosphere to students which you are supporting. Your role as a LSA / Learning Support Assistant will providing 1-1 support to a student/s with their education and helping those children to integrate in tasks and activities which other students are typically completing. Students which you are working with directly will have specific learning difficulties including autism, down syndrome and Huntington's disease.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a student/s with potentially challenging behaviour and learning difficulties with their education
- Ensure supported student/s are integrate in tasks and activities which other students are typically completing.
- Provide a safe, comforting space for students.
- Ensure they are on task and completing activities to the best of their ability.
- Help teachers plan lessons to cater to the pupils' specific needs
- Supervise students on the playground
- Report and keep record of any incidents which may occur.
Pay:
- GBP75/day
Shift Patterns:
- Mon Fri 8am 4pm, Day-to-Day
You must have:
- Must have at least 1 years' experience as a LSA / Learning Support Assistant or within the education sector.
- Must Hold a valid DBS within the last 12 months - preferably registered online or be able to complete a new one.
- Understanding of Child Safeguarding.
- Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care OR Children & Young People.
- Must have Safeguarding children, First Aid, Fire Safety and Health and Safety training
