Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Salary: £70-£80 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Contract: Temporary (with possibility of permanent position)
Job Summary:
Here at Reed we are seeking a motivated and experienced Primary School Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a Primary School in Doncaster. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide a high level of support to children in their learning and development, helping to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
We have relationships with schools and Multi-Academy Trusts such as: David Ross, Oasis, Delta and Harbour Learning Trust. Our presence covers Scunthorpe, Hull, Doncaster and Rotherham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with individual or small groups of children to provide support with their learning, including literacy and numeracy skills
- Help to plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities, working closely with the class teacher
- Support the teacher with administrative tasks, such as preparing resources and marking work
- Assist with the assessment and tracking of pupils' progress, using this information to inform planning and target-setting
- Support children's social and emotional development, helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Liaise with parents and carers as necessary, maintaining open lines of communication and building positive relationships
- Attend training and development sessions as required, to develop your own skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in KS1, KS2 and EYFS, is desirable
- A good understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to provide effective support with literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- The ability to work as part of a team, as well as using initiative and working independently
- A patient and caring attitude towards children, with a commitment to their wellbeing and development
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, is desirable but not essential.
