WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR is continuing to develop at the forefront of the BEV automotive roll out and as such is looking to expand expert knowledge and skills in this high tech, high voltage area.
Manage the delivery of the Power Electronics product that will run JLR's in-house software for the next generation of our charging systems. The development of this HV ECU will be of vital importance to deliver future BEV applications which will leads us towards our aim to meet electrification targets beyond 2025.
Under your leadership, the JLR team will plan, design, integrate and validate a charging hardware fully compatible with JLR's proprietary BEV platform. The very same charging Hardware will require to be compatible with JLR's internal SW and able to meet the needs and expectations from the most discerning customers.
This function will drive a high quality, agile and rapid HW generation and integration to deliver frequently iterated & validated hardware/SW system into a comprehensive virtual and rig-based verification testing for prototype and series release. The charging and battery systems are wide-reaching and diverse, distributed systems and as such needs a flexible and driven hardware strategy.
The team will also be responsible to ensure the validation of the charging system function on complex PiL/HiL rigs and in vehicle to assure system function delivery to the customer.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Agree with the key business stakeholders' technical content on programme assumption and delivery implication
Plan and leadership of activities that delivers a Charging Power Electronics Module that is fully compatible with JLR's BEV platform
Ensure the module is delivered on time and following latest company processes (PCDS V4)
Manage suppliers and customers towards common grounds around product and timing
Provide Technical leadership and decision on escalation items among interfacing teams and squads
Effective Escalation and creative problem solving for managerial and technical problems.
Support eAPQP Sign off
Change control management
Delivery of verified and validated Charging modules to the project deliverables and timing.
Developing containment plans for at risk deliveries & managing rapid prototype deliveries to allow continuous development & test & delivery of customer MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
Plan, execute and integrate vehicle level testing with wider JLR team and engage in complex issue resolution
Develop and manage module design and virtual and physical test (Hardware, Module and Software in Loop).
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Proven technical leader in field of electronic controls systems & High Voltage components
Proven experience deliver complex automotive modules under JLR's programme frame
Proven track record of supplier management, requirements definition and system design
Proven track record of requirement driven model-based design delivery
Proven track record of team & offshore resource management
Proven ability to deliver technology leap programmes
Proven ability to manage interactions with legislation authorities on safety critical systems and software process
Knowledge and experience in Agile working methodology
Knowledge and use of Problem solving tools (Six sigmal, 8D, DMAIC)
Software, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equiv
