Principal Planner

Our client is looking to appoint a Principal Planning Officer for 12 month contract to carry out a role in their Development Management team. They need someone who can handle a caseload of more complex planning schemes whilst also providing some assistance to the Team Manager in managing workload for the team.
Our client has 2 area teams split East / West and in both instances the caseload is varied and demanding so they need someone with good all round knowledge of a range of applications. You will be involved at every stage from pre-app through committee and approval. Due to the busy workload, you will be assigned applications best matched to your specific skill set so this is an excellent opportunity to take on a role that will offer an interesting and varied workload.
They will accept applications from those at Senior grade who are ready to step up and take on more responsibility. You will need to be familiar with inner city planning schemes and ideally you will have professional accreditation and be familiar with the London Plan.
Our client is based in East London and requires 2 days per week in the office. Rates are negotiable depending on experience but we typically expect £40-£50/hr at this level (umbrella).
