Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an experienced investor and developer of both land and renewable led technologies with a focus on Ground-Mounted Solar, Battery Storage, Electric Vehicle Charging and Hydrogen led projects that harness the UK's drive towards a greener, cleaner future. My client is a specialist UK based team with a central focus on identifying, acquiring, and developing fully consented land and renewable led projects on behalf of institutional funds.
JOB ROLE
Due to the growth opportunities within the renewable energy sector my client is looking to add to its Planning Team and is seeking an ambitious, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Senior Town Planner/Principal Planner who will support the Development Team to deliver all consented, permitted and stakeholder engagement requirements on all of Solar, Battery Storage, EV, Hydrogen and Land Development projects.
The role will be flexible, working from our central office in London with travel across the UK for site visits, planning committee meetings and planning consultation events, where required.
THE CANDIDATE

• Minimum of 3 years post-graduate planning experience, 2 of which have been working within a Local Planning Authority Development Management Department.
• Bachelor's Degree in Town Planning, or related discipline.
• Demonstrable experience within the environmental, sustainability and/or renewable energy planning sector from a developer and/or client side perspective from concept to approval of planning permission.
• An understanding of key technologies such as Solar and/or Battery Storage and the wider policies that sit around these technologies from a UK planning perspective.
• An intrinsic understanding of the workings of local governance and demonstrable knowledge of adopted national and local planning policy and the green agenda.
• Demonstrable applied knowledge of the procedural requirements and obligations of planning legislation.
• An understanding of local governance and experience of attending planning committee meetings.
• Proactive and highly motivated; a self-starter who can take ownership of key tasks and always
