Principal Planning Officer

Our client, a reputable London Borough Council, is seeking a Principal Planning Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Development Management sector and contribute to the planning and development of the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of complex planning applicationsProvide professional advice and guidance on planning mattersAssess applications for compliance with planning policies and regulationsConduct site visits and attend meetings with stakeholdersPrepare detailed reports and make recommendations to the planning committeeAssist in the development and implementation of planning policiesCollaborate with colleagues and external agencies on planning projectsStay current with industry trends and changes in planning legislation
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in Development ManagementExcellent knowledge of planning legislation and policiesStrong analytical and problem–solving skillsAbility to effectively manage a caseload of complex planning applicationsGood communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and strong report writing abilitiesProficient in using planning–related software and technologyAbility to work independently and as part of a team
