Job Purpose

As a Principal Security Architect, the candidate will be responsible for leading the creation of architectural work products(artefacts) and performing various analysis. These work products are very important in communicating to the entire IT community. They may include designs, blueprints, global principles, standards and patterns or Notices of decision that impact technology strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the creation of the "as-is state" and the “to-be state.” Designs a secure, efficient, and adaptable future state model. Defines the high-level migration plan to address the gaps between the "as-is" and future state.
  • Own and manage how the ‘big picture’ of system functionality and processes connect and work together within the security model
  • Accountable for the planning, analysis, design, and support of security capabilities
  • Lead other Architects in the security definition and implementation of enterprise architecture strategy and framework.
  • Contribute as a principal team member of the Enterprise Architecture organization, ensuring this high-performing team coordinates delivery with enterprise strategies and roadmaps that are integrated and aligned with the security strategy.
  • Seen as an industry leader in Security Architecture. Evangelize standards and best practices throughout the enterprise.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Industry Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, SANS GIAC, CSA preferred
  • Experience leading security solution design and Security Architecture experience
  • Progressive experience performing definition and implementation of enterprise solutions
  • Knowledge of rrequirements analysis and strategic planning experience in a multi-platform environment
  • Advanced-level knowledge of industry-wide existing and emerging security technologies
  • Experience designing and implementing security solutions for applications, infrastructure, and networks
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices such as Sox, PCI, ITIL, RUP

More Information

A competitive salary between £55,000 - £75,000 – dependent on capability.



As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 7.5% for on target performance with a stretch performance goal of up to 15% of your salary alongside a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
