Principal Temporary Works Engineer – Contract- Remote
Job Title: Principal Engineer - Temporary Works
As a Principal Engineer, you will be a vital member of engineering and design team. Your primary responsibilities will involve supervising and conducting civil and structural engineering designs across a range of projects and proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal in the preparation of design documentation as requested by Lead Engineers.
- Supervise, prepare, check, and approve design work in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure that engineering activities are executed within budget and schedule, while maintaining technical integrity.
- Ensure work complies with relevant codes, standards, and procedures.
- Maintain and enhance current awareness of applicable codes and standards.
- Implement company and client/project policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on legislative requirements.
- Conduct short-term visits to sites and offices in the UK and overseas as needed for project and proposal support.
- Ensure adherence to legal and organizational responsibilities regarding Health, Safety, and Environmental issues
Expertise Across Multiple Sectors:
- Formwork/falsework
- Scaffolding
- Ground shoring /retaining walls / slope stability
- deep and shallow foundations
- Hoarding and fencing
- Working platforms
- Demolition
- Construction Methodology / buildability assessments
- Concrete structures
- Steel structures
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- Chartered Civil and/or Structural Engineer with significant experience in Temporary Works Engineering, Design, and Construction.
- Extensive experience across multiple sectors in construction, including Roads, Railways, Water, Nuclear, and Industrial Process Projects.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-working ethic.
