An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Doncaster Private Client Team. To support our ongoing expansion due to the development and success of our existing team, we have an opportunity in our team for an Account Handler preferably with at least 1 years’ experience in the insurance sector or with a customer service background. Formal insurance qualifications are not essential as you will be supported through these as part of your role.
You will be working in a fast paced, environment handling new business enquiries, the renewal process, claims and dealing with mid-term adjustments.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day servicing of client’s insurance needs to support retention & development of the business.
- Build relationships with clients and insurers through a trusted and responsive service (being solutions focused).
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients and insurers.
- Deal effectively with queries, including changes in cover and risk.
- Ability to broke and service the insurance needs of clients.
- Obtain quotations from insurers for both renewals and new business.
- Placement of insurance within our panel of insurers.
- Effective and timely management of all renewals & amendments to ensure completion by the due date ensuring that clients are adequately protected.
- Check all documentation for accuracy prior to issue to the client.
- Identify risk exposures and advise on insurance and risk management solutions. E.g safes, alarms, fire protection.
- An understanding of insurer products within Private Client and their specialisms.
- Follow the Private Client handling process accurately and diligently to ensure all steps are undertaken and that we meet all regulatory requirements throughout
- Deal effectively and sympathetically with Private Client claims ensuring a satisfactory solution.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the department and its plans and objectives.
Required experience:
- Ideally have a minimum of 12 months experience in insurance
- Able to effectively handle your own workload
- Have an exceptional eye for detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience of using Acturis would be advantageous but is not essential
