Private Equity Secondaries - Associate (X,F,M)

As a Private Equity Secondaries - Associate, you will report to the Head of Secondaries, and you will be part of AXA IMPRIME business unit.

AXA IM Prime is a Private Market Enabler and Hedge Funds platform offering diversified sources of private market returns across Private Equity, infrastructure equity, private debt, and hedge funds. With €30 billion of alternative investments under management and a team of seasoned investment professionals committed to proactive ESG and strict risk management criteria, AXA IM Prime is committed to transparency and reliability. The company manages €5 billion of commitments annually over the next three years and has 70+ employees across three offices.

The Associate PE Secondaries will, under the supervision of Head of PE Secondaries and Director PE Secondaries, due diligence and execute PE secondaries investments. The Associate PE Secondaries may selectively support the due diligence and execution of co-investments and fund-investments.

AXA IM Prime business set-up

• Actively contribute to initial product development of best-in-class AXA IM Private Equity Secondaries offerings
• Positively contribute to a wider recognition of the AXA IM Prime brand as Private Market Enabler to institutional and private investors
• Contribute to the constant improvement of investment, portfolio management and reporting processes to be implemented at AXA IM PRIME

Investment Strategy / Portfolio Construction

• Support in executing Prime’s Private Equity Secondaries investment strategy / product launches considering key portfolio criteria
• Proactively anticipate and identify portfolio adjustments

Pipeline Management / Opportunities screening

• Pipeline Management / Opportunities screening by implementing and constantly improving stringent process of identifying, evaluating, contacting and relationship building with GPs
• Systematically screen, pre-select and source secondary investment opportunities

Secondaries transactions Due Diligence

• Perform thorough commercial, financial, operational and ESG due diligence of secondaries opportunities, drafting of committee investment recommendations to AXA IM Prime / AXA / Vehicle Board Investment Committees
• Strong focus on AXA’s ESG requirements and strategy in investments selection
• Opportunistically support PE team on fund investments and co-investments due diligence

Deal execution

• Secondary deals execution under supervision of the Head of PE Secondaries and Director PE Secondaries in close collaboration with internal stakeholders / external legal counsel
• Active maintaining and enhancing Prime’s network of GPs / intermediaries and potential partners

Monitoring / reporting

• Contribute to the IT/operational set up by providing experience and insights to be reflected in reporting and monitoring tools to be on-boarded and timely go live
• Monitor portfolio and asset performance
• Contribute to producing regular reporting documents (at least on quarterly basis) using AXA IM Prime reporting tool and asset managers reporting tool to be shared with AXA IM Prime clients

Client relationship, Fundraising

• Contribute to the fundraising efforts alongside AXA IM Prime sales team through pitch preparation, performing research and contributing to newsletters
• Support active interaction with AXA and the private market Centre of Expertise in particular regarding investment performance, market views, investment committee preparation etc.

Education/Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field

Experience/Skills

• Proven experience in the financial sector/asset management industry at similar institutions
• Deep knowledge and a successful track record in secondary fund investing
• Additional direct, fund, or co-investment experience is a valuable asset
• Familiarity with insurance companies’ investment constraints is advantageous
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Proficiency in another European language is a plus
