Our client, a leading business services company in the South West, is looking to recruit an experienced Probate, Trust and Estates Manager to join their busy team based in the clients Exeter Office.

As the Probate, Trust and Estates Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the entire probate process, from initial consultation to resolving complex cases, alongside refining probate processes and system improvements.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a wealth of experience in Probate Services, adeptly managing Probate matters, and exhibit a thorough comprehension of probate regulations and inheritance tax.

The responsibilities:

• Engage in close collaboration with Partners, Directors, and clients, providing expert Probate guidance from initial consultation to navigating complex case resolutions.
• Work closely with Personal Representatives to meticulously gather information on the deceased’s assets and liabilities.
• Meticulously prepare all requisite IHT accounts, meticulously calculate payable IHT, and offer informed advice on payment methods.
• Seamlessly manage the application process for Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration as necessary.
• Efficiently oversee asset collection and offer insightful guidance on equitable asset distributions to beneficiaries.
• Prepare meticulously detailed estate accounts and tax returns.
• Execute monthly billing and reporting tasks with precision and efficiency.

The candidate:

• Proven experience in Probate Services, particularly handling Probate matters.
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and the capability to work independently.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of probate regulations and inheritance tax.
• Excel in dynamic environments, showcasing outstanding time management and organisational skills to consistently meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in utilising IT tools, systems and software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, along with a capacity for empathy, are vital for substantial client interaction.
