Forensic Services provides dedicated scientific and technical forensic support to the investigation and reduction of crime across Greater Manchester. Forensic Services supports investigations and operations across the force dealing with the recording, recovery and examination of evidence from the crime/incident scene through to the court process.
In this role you will assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Forensic Science Regulator's accreditation and code of practice requirements across Forensic Services. Co-ordination and delivery of training and development for staff within Forensic Services as well as the provision of specialist forensic training and support for investigating officers.
The successful candidate will be a confident public speaker with knowledge of the development and delivery of training programmes. They will possess an operational understanding of the application of forensic services to the investigation of crime. Experience of Quality Management Systems and the process of external accreditation is also essential. A driving Licence and use of a vehicle to travel across the Force are both necessary.
Due to the Equality Act (2010) the criteria surrounding sickness absence will not be checked until the conditional offer stage of the recruitment process, this is after the interview stage of the full recruitment process. With this in mind all candidates need to ensure that they have a good attendance record for the last 2 years for Staff and officers and for 12 months for apprentices.

It is a requirement that you evidence the below essential criteria. If you do not your application will not be progressed any further.
1) Operational Forensic experience in one or more of the Forensic Services disciplines, (e.g. CSI, fingerprints etc) and an operational understanding of the application of forensic services to the investigation of crime.
2) Experience of using IT systems to ensure information in training is current and relevant to target audience.
3) Experienced in public speaking and presentations
4) Knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of training and development programmes, including practical trainer experience.
5) Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems and the process of external accreditation.
6) Ability to assess/resolve issues logically and objectively.
