Job description

Overview
The role holder will act as first point of referral for any BAU operational queries. They will be the technical expert for their particular workstream and will provide, guidance, coaching and training on technical matters as required.
They will be considered the Subject Matter Expert for their team/unit and be expected to embed that knowledge throughout the TA operation
They will work alongside the leadership team to identify areas for improvement within processes and will ensure that daily procedures, processes and workflows are adhered to. They will ensure that any gaps are flagged, solutions proposed and actions taken to close them are identified and documented.
Working also with the Continuous Improvement team and Controls function to feed in suggestions to reduce and mitigate risk in our processes and procedures as required and ensure smooth implementation into teams.

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
  • Work alongside internal and external stakeholders on BAU, new initiatives and projects as required
  • Act with integrity and display role model behaviours
  • As directed, support BAU reporting, controls and workflow within their designated area
  • To provide training and coaching for the specific area of expertise
  • Act as the “go to” person for referrals within the department in line with the area of expertise
  • To assist with producing monthly Management Information for the Assistant Manager, as required.
  • Ability to manage day to day operational workflows and support resourcing
  • Champion CASS related queries and learning
  • Work with the wider TA team and leaders to develop processes and procedures in line with the evolution of the department

Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Good working knowledge of TA systems and M/S office packages
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Flexible and agile approach to change
  • Ability to work to deadlines and guide others in prioritisation
  • Ability to coach and support others
  • Attention to detail and focussed on accuracy
  • A good awareness of Risk and CASS principles
  • Customer focussed
  • IOC – Introduction to Securities and Investments module
Desirable
  • IOC qualification including Collectives and Regulations modules
  • Coaching and Leadership experience
