Form of workStrong Group are working with an reputable construction contractor who specialising in the construction of steel frame system buildings across a diverse range of sectors who are involved in a range of high profile construction projects. Our client is looking for Procurement/ Buyers of All Levels to join their commercial/ Pre-construction division based in North Yorkshire.
Must have Procurement/ Buyer experience with LGSF, Cold Rolled Steel, Hot Rolled Steel, Cladding or Drylining.
Title: Procurement/ Buyer All Levels Salary : £24K - 31K (DOE)

The Successful candidate will support the profitable growth of the contractor and associated companies, by ensuring budgets are adhered to and all procurement is efficiently completed. You'll need to develop an understanding of the products and services the contractor provides and source quality products at favourable prices.
Procurement/ Buyer All levels responsibilities:
- Procuring all goods and services for the group of companies.
- Estimating of all other supplies and services offered by the contractor and associated companies.
- Be the point of contact for existing suppliers and new supplier.
- Representing the contractor and protecting the organisations reputation.
As the Procurement/ Buyer you'll need to ensure the efficient procurement of goods and services for the contractor and associated companies to maintain or increase profits and maintain the quality of products delivered.
Procurement/ Buyer duties:
- Strategic buying.
- Procurement of Goods and Services for the Group of Companies.
- To be the driver of negotiating the best deals and track savings from budgets.
- To develop a knowledge of the Goods and Services each Company uses.
- Supplier relation/Credit account support
- To raise purchase orders for all Goods and Services
- Reconciliation of invoices
- Resolving Invoice queries
- Material cost matrix (Live updates of current market prices)
- Logistics assistance
- Commercial awareness on buying requirements/ not having standing stock
- Stock taking/ Stock check
- Allocate Stock, to projects
- Assist in the delivery of informative handovers once the company receive a PO/LOI or subcontract.
Skills, qualifications and experience required:
- Procurement experience within construction
- Experience with LGSF, Cold Rolled Steel, Hot Rolled Steel, Cladding or Drylining
- Proven success running tenders from strategy through to award
- Excellent supplier relationship management abilities
- Strong analytical and negotiation talents
- Continuous improvement mindset
